Laser Lipolysis
Optimal Body Shaping Results with Minimal Downtime
Laser lipolysis a minimally invasive form of aesthetic surgery designed to remove excess body fat. It involves the use of a laser to rapidly dissolve excess fat in target areas such as the thighs, abdomen, arms, neck and parts of the face, using a minor “keyhole” surgical procedure.
Gold Standard Aesthetic Technology
Fotona’s QCW Nd:YAG laser is considered the gold standard in aesthetic surgery, and its application in laser lipolysis has been tested and proven to be safe and effective. Its specific advantages compared to other laser sources include:
- its relatively low absorption in water
- the largest directly heated volume of subcutaneous tissue
- the smallest undesirable thermal effect on neighboring dermal tissue, and
- a significantly higher ability to coagulate blood vessels
- Safe, Effective, and Minimally Invasive
Fotona’s laser lipolysis procedure does not require the use of a general anesthetic. A very fine laser fiber is inserted into the treatment area, where the laser light causes swelling and rupture of adipocytes. When the fat is melted, it can either be absorbed by the body or removed by the physician.
HOW CAN WE HELP ?
Simultaneously, the laser also tightens the surrounding skin to prevent it from sagging after the removal of unwanted fat. In fact, the same laser can be used for skin tightening, tone and textural improvements elsewhere on the body.
Laser lipolysis can be performed with the following Fotona laser systems:
Fotona’s XP Line of laser systems offers a variety of essential tools for expanded treatment options and enhanced speed and precision of surgical and aesthetic treatments, without compromising efficacy. Fotona’s multi-application XP Dynamis and XP Spectro include a high performance QCW Nd:YAG surgical laser as well as a built-in, non-ablative, long-pulse Nd:YAG aesthetic laser, which together enable an extremely wide treatment range.
Superior Performance
All Fotona Nd:YAG lasers are equipped with VSP (Variable Square Pulse) technology to provide the widest range of selectable pulses and ensure greater procedural safety. Compared to conventional Nd:YAG technologies, Fotona’s proprietary VSP pulses create virtually instantaneous temperature increases that are limited to the targeted structures only. Square pulses reach peak powers faster, remain constant and return to zero immediately. This contributes to higher long-term success rates and shorter recovery times.
Fotona’s XP Line and SP Line lasers can generate peak powers beyond 5 kW, ensuring greater speed and efficiency in surgical procedures.
Handpieces & Accessories
Fotona’s specially designed, innovative handpiece technology allows safe, precisely controlled and optimal delivery of laser pulses to the treatment area. The following handpieces are designed for use with the XP Line laser systems:
R27 Handpiece: safely delivers Nd:YAG laser energy, transmitted via optical fiber to the treatment site. For use with Fotona laser systems that support QCW operation mode with 400Mm and 600Mm fibers.
R33 Nd:YAG Handpiece: intended to be used in pulsed mode. The handpiece has a variable spotsize from 2 to 10 mm and is recommended for the treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions, skin rejuvenation treatments, as well as for permanent hair reduction.
Fotona also offers a Treatment Upgrade Kit for laser lipolysis treatments, which provides Fotona laser users with the necessary knowledge, accessories and a complete set of tools to confidently and skillfully perform the procedure on their patients.
